Slide Snow School was organized to meet the
need of a growing number of skiers, snowmobilers,
snowboarders, snowshoers, ski patrollers, forecasters, ice
climbers, mountaineers and general snow enthusiasts that
seek to increase their knowledge about avalanche awareness
and rescue.
Slide Snow School teaches the most current
American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education’s
proven, unified curriculum. AIARE provides a unified
approach that builds logically on itself from a 1 hour
avalanche awareness presentation to a 78 hour Level 3
advanced course.

Slide Snow School is focused solely on avalanche education. Our goal is to arm students with the knowledge to make informed decisions and stay safe.
The Sierra Nevada with its varied snowpack, and abundant, easily accessed avalanche terrain, is an ideal place to learn stability assessment, rescue, snow science, and route-finding.
